Hear Ye, Hear Ye

Breaking Doodler News: Kate Barsotti, the Flapdoodler's drudge a.k.a. the Scullion, has been accepted into the respected mentoring program developed and run by the Nevada chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Tim Travaglini will be her mentor. Under normal circumstances, the FD would be concerned, but Mr. Travaglini is not only an experienced editor, marketer, and book seller, he competes nationally in roller derby. The Scullion has met her match in Harm's Way. We expect there to be outfits, and possibly outings.

In Other Doodlings

Heavens to Betsy, the Flapdoodler has a lot of goings-on going on. She is a partner at the lovely Eclectics Gift Gallery and is scribbling a middle grade fantasy novel-in-progress (how she'd like to find the agent of her dreams this year or next) whilst illustrating for new clients. She tossed caution to the winds and opened an online shop and is also helping out with the greatest idea in the history of the world, the Rabbit Hole.

Much to her own surprise, the Flapdoodler found her fine art mojo and will display fiber art in the Pairings group show organized by the Missouri Fiber Artists Guild (MOFA), as well as participating in Creative Hand with the Kansas City Fiber Guild. You may also find the FD and her resourceful husband popping up a porch gallery in Columbus Park on Third Fridays.

She does none of the above without advice and encouragement. The Flappers and the Doodlers leave her humbled and hugged and helped, heaps.

Thank you for dropping in. If you need assistance, please drop Kate a line. She's the worker bee, you know.
